July 2014

The Position of Treasurer for the Memorial Endowment Fund will be available for the years 2015-2017. If you are interested in throwing your hat in the ring, please let Bea Scheele or Ina Clark know. It is a detail oriented process, not difficult and takes about 2-4 hours a quarter. Kathy Snyder is stepping down.

The program is set up on Excel and there would be a reasonable training time involved. If you would like more information please feel to ask anyone on the committee. The next Memorial/Endowment meeting will be on July 8 at 10:00 am here in the library. If you are interested, please join us.

Mark your calendars, August 10th! We will be celebrating Erin’s year with us during worship and enjoy a potluck lunch after worship. Watch for more details as the date gets closer.

V.B.S. Update: Our Skyward theme was well received by kids and helpers? We focused on the verse “ Everything is possible with God” Mark 10:27. Our mission project is being extended. God’s Global Barnyard with more noisy offerings will be continued. Thanks to the congregation for your support!

The Thrivent/2nd Harvest Mobile Food Bank is coming to St. Peter on August 22 (will replace our usual food pantry for that day) and October 3. We will need at least 10 volunteers each day from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to help set up, distribute food, and clean up. Please consider volunteering for this important ministry to our neighbors.

Summer adult bible study began on June 18 for both long-time people of faith and newcomers to Christianity. The topics are simple, like “God” and “Religion” It’s fun and thought provoking.

We meet at 7:00 pm on Wednesdays in the church library, join us if you can.
