Dear friends in Christ,
It is so good to be with you! As I sit at my desk this morning, I find myself filled with gratitude for you. It has been a joy already to meet so many of you. I so look forward to getting to know you all over this next year. I am excited to see how God will be at work in and trough and around each of us as we worship and live and pray together, as we celebrate and mourn and walk through these hours and days and months. May we continue to grow in love this year – for one another and for God through our friend and savior Jesus Christ.
A major thank you for your hospitality and welcome. It was incredible to arrive to smiles and hugs and helping hands. The care that you have poured into preparing for my arrival is overwhelming. Your care is evident – in a beautifully arranged home, clean sheets and towels in the closets, food in the cupboards, meals in the fridge, flowers on the table, and all of the small touches that have helped this house to feel more like a home. Thank you. We are off to a good start.
In the words of the psalmist, “How very good and pleasant it is when kindred dwell together!” (Psalm 133). It is good to be together!
Grace and peace,
